Summary Statement:
An industry leading commercial property Program Manager and capacity provider representing multiple domestic and international insurance companies in the excess and surplus lines catastrophe insurance market is seeking a collaborative and entrepreneurial executive to serve as their Chief Claims Officer. This role is responsible for the development and execution of claims strategies in support of overall business objectives.
This individual will work cross:functionally with the CEO, President, CUO, COO and other senior leaders in loss trend, coverage and exposure analysis for existing Catastrophe exposed programs and new program opportunities. The role will function as the companys claims expert as well as the primary claims contact for the corporation between independent field adjusters, insurance carriers and third party administrators. The Chief Claims Officer is accountable to the President for all day to day business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
:Provide vision and executive leadership to the claims organization in accordance with established strategy.
:Analyze existing claims strategy to ascertain effectiveness; develop and implement appropriate claims strategy in conjunction with the CEO, President, CUO, COO, EVP Catastrophe Risk Manager and Head : Wind and EQ Divisions.
:Interact directly with internal claims personnel and external providers to manage and achieve high standards of productivity, efficiency and alignment of organizational goals.
:Lead the development, implementation and continuous planning of all claims programs, metrics, processes, results and initiatives, including establishing a network of preferred adjusters and national catastrophe plan.
:Oversee the day to day claims management activities of the company, its insurance carrier partners and Third Party Adjusters (TPA) which includes:
:Manage relationships with partners/vendors, including adjusting and engineering companies.
:Reserve authority
:Settlement authority
:Quality of process oversight and review
:Monitor compliance to company claims reporting requirements and Best Practices
:Schedule and attend claim reviews and audits : varies by carrier (Annually or bi:annually)
:Act as a liaison
:Analyze exposures, make recommendations and approve
settlement/resolution of claims.
:Work with defense counsel on litigation management matters to include:
:Coordination of the selection of experts necessary for the defense of matters
:Attend mitigations, trials, depositions as required
:Manage litigation and select panel counsel
:Produce monthly loss runs, risk management dashboards and other claims related reports.
:Provide advisories with regards to claims in excess of 100,000 and all files to be tried within 12:months; Oversee reserve adequacy of case reserves.
:Conduct claims management educational material and programs for all levels of management.
:Strong analytical, problem solving, project management skills and ability to multi:task projects; Author the claims management policies and procedures of the company.
:Provide execution based leadership of the claims team to ensure that strategic projects, business efficiencies and underwriting support functions meet or exceed defined timelines, measures and expenses goals to support the underwriting team.
:Drive and execute all operational initiatives throughout the organization. Cultivate a culture that excels in communication and collaboration.
:Design and implement Claims Division business processes, plans and procedures.
:Ensure that every employee understands their expected role and responsibilities for contribution towards the achievement of the short and longer term goals of the organization. x200B;
:Ensure compliance with all claims, underwriting and ethical standards of conduct as well as corporate guidelines and regulatory requirement
