Overview: We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join the Cali Bamboo Team, a Top 40 Workplace in San Diego! The Senior Accountant will assist in general ledger management and be involved in the main areas of cash maintenance and projection, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accrual and prepaid calculations, and fixed asset tracking. This position will report to the Controller. Primary Responsibilities: Perform bank reconciliation on a daily basis and investigate/resolve reconciling items. Prepare and review weekly cash projections with management. Participate in a timely and accurate month-end close with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments. Prepare journal entries by ensuring supporting calculation is correct and that entries are made to the appropriate accounts. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to verify accuracy and completeness of general ledger balances. Clearly document work performed and maintain adequate supporting documentation. Calculate month-end accruals and amortization of prepaid expenses. Maintain the Fixed Asset roll-forward, track additions and disposals and calculate monthly depreciation. Assist with monthly sales tax reporting for various states. Perform account balance variance analysis and obtain underlying fluctuation explanations. Work cross-functionally across departments to ensure that reports are provided when needed and that transactions are recorded on time. Assist external auditors with year-end financial statement audit by providing requested items and schedules. Work with team to identify areas for process improvement and eliminate redundant or non-value added work to scale with company growth. Support Accounting Manager and Controller on ad-hoc projects, analysis and other duties as assigned. Core Competencies: Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup formulas. Knowledge of ERP system, NetSuite experience a plus. Ability to thrive in fast-growing environment where change is the norm; requires strong multi-tasking skills, and the flexibility to switch from one project to the next. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem solving abilities. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting concepts, financial reporting and internal controls. Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels within an organization Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline. Minimum of 3+ years of corporate accounting experience. Public accounting experience preferred. Knowledge and fundamental understanding of GAAP.
