I am offering an original (not a reproduction) early 1900's Starboard Navigation (Running) Lantern, which is required on all vessels while underway at night. The 112° dioptric green lens has turned to a bluish green because of the manganese used as the glass clearing agent between 1860 and 1915. Based on the quality, design, and materials used, it was most likely built in the early 1900's and still has original Wilcox Crittenden manufacturer’s tag attached to the back.. The lantern is made of brass and galvanized tin measuring 10½” tall x 7” wide x 5½” deep. It is the “Hurricane Tested” model which has the original font tank with a P&A “Waterbury” burner (with wick), plus 110V electric lighting including a 64” power cord and in-line switch. This nautical artifact is a prime example of the superior U.S. craftsmanship during this era. Additional Nautical Items Available - Please Call Cliff @ 760-736-8101 For More Information.
