Refurbished three dog Antique Cast Brass Porthole. Based on the quality, materials, used, and machine work (not metric), it was most likely built in the U.S. during the early 1900’s. The main housing measures 13"x 3” with a ¾" protrusion (lip) and has three swivel dog assemblies attached (3” x ⅝" threaded shaft) and original tie-down nuts. The 10" hinged door has a 9" clear glass insert which is ¾" thick. The glass surface show some scuffs and scratches, but is still clear. The original cork seal is in place but shows moderate deterioration and there are remnants of red paint is in some areas This 23 pound nautical artifact a great example of U.S. maritime history.
