I am offering an original (not a reproduction) heavy duty wood Tripod. Based on the design, materials used, and the quality is was likely built during the mid-1900s in the USA for use by our military during WWII. The hardwood used was painted Olive Drab, which was used extensively by the U.S. Army. Also, based on it having all brass hardware, plus exceptionally large pointed feet, it was built to be used outdoors on the battlefield. The 40” maximum height indicates it was designed for some type of instrument that was read from the top, not the typical survey instruments used at eye level. Its 5¼” brass table has “LG-15-B” imprinted into the casting. This tripod appears to be complete and in very good condition. It displays well and could be adapted for any number of uses. Additional Nautical Items Available - Please Call Cliff @ 760-736-8101 For More Information.
