Position Summary
The RPG Developer I plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the companys Information Technology functions. The role is primarily responsible, under general supervision, for assisting in the design and maintenance of application database architecture in RPG and CL in an IMB System i environment. The RPG Developer I participates in user discovery sessions to document business requirements, diagnose problems, and understand requested enhancements, translating findings into technical designs.

Essential Functions
:Under the supervision of senior:level teammates, help develop and maintain current applications for existing systems on a variety of technical platforms in RPG and CL in an IBM System i environment.
:Participate in systems design sessions with users, Business Analysts, and/or senior:level teammates to develop complete specifications that capture impact of changes on all applications, systems, and databases.
:Apply knowledge of data centric architecture, design, programming, and performance to help update programs and resolve problems.
:Apply knowledge and help manage projects using DB2 and SQL.
:Demonstrate a high level of personal commitment and accountability to the business with a focus on quality and customer service.
:Work in a team environment, and communicate positively with team members, peers, customers, and vendors.
:Provide time tracking and project feedback data.
:Perform other duties as assigned.

:Technical certification or degree in a related field either completed or in progress.
:General understanding of programming languages.
:Self:starter with the demonstrated ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and techniques.
:Experience with Software/DB modernization, analysis, design, and construction including application of modern DB, OO, and modular software concepts and patterns a plus.
:Highly detail:oriented and organized.
:Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline:driven environment; strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
:Strong verbal and written communication skills.
:Ability to think critically, including the ability to evaluate facts and data to draw conclusions, determine the downstream impact of decisions and associated risks.
:Ethical, with a commitment to company values.

:General supervision required, depending on experience
:Low independent judgment and discretion used in decision:making; escalates issues of high complexity for advice and resolution
:Travel: 0

Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
Environmental: Office environment : no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
