The Perinatal Educator for Scripps Center for Community Health and Advocacy is a Certified Childbirth Educator and/or a Certified Lactation Educator. The Perinatal Educator is responsible for teaching standardized perinatal education programs throughout the Scripps Healthcare System. The Educator is an active team member who works closely with the Lead Perinatal Educator and Supervisor in the development of and implementation of perinatal education programs. The Educator performs other duties as assigned.Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Accomplished adult and/or child teaching skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to function with minimal supervision, bilingual an advantage, strong personal and professional commitment to adult and/or child education programming. Previous experience with adult and/or child learning systems/theory. Certified Childbirth Educator and/or Certified Lactation Educator with one year teaching experience in Perinatal Education. Required Certification/Registration:Childbirth Education and/or Lactation Educator certification.
