Kforce is currently seeking a Director of IT Operations to join our client in San Diego, California (CA). Summary:This role will head up all of IT infrastructure, support and operations, reporting to the head of IT. This person will be both strategic and tactical, helping make choices in their network and server. * Responsible for infrastructure planning, design and upgrades to ensure scalability, reliability, security, performance, and flexibility meet short and long-term business needs
* Assess risk related to infrastructure services and implement technologies and processes to mitigate risks in line with business criticality
* Work with vendors to drive network and server architecture
* Manage vendors and team to ensure delivery of quality services
* Manage vendor performance and metrics to ensure services are delivered within SLA's
* Manage vendor to ensure maintenance of the data storage systems and performance of system back-ups
* Establish and manage infrastructure budget
* Negotiate vendor contracts to obtain most favorable terms to achieve business outcomes
Ensure infrastructure vendors and are aligned to use documented, reliable, repeatable processes for the following:
* Change management
* Problem management
* Patch management
* Server provisioning
* Server validation
* Responsible for managing the internal IT Service Desk, including team management, documentation, technologies, vendors, policies, and processes for incident, problem, and request management
* Manage external service desk vendors who to ensure high quality service; communicate required device/environment/configuration changes and align on best practice processes for service
* Ensure timely and appropriate response to user incidents
* Bachelor's degree
* A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience within IT infrastructure management, including a minimum of 5 years of management of IT Operations and 3 years of management of IT Service Desk and/or end user device management
Must possess:
* Strong understanding of desktop technologies, including Windows OS's, Active Directory, SCCM, Exchange, imaging tools, packaging tools, scripting, and security
* Clear understanding of ITIL processes relating to incident management, problem management, and change management
* Proven track record providing the highest levels of customer service to end users, including those at the executive level
* Knowledge of the function and management of GxP systems
* Knowledge of network and server setup, configuration and administration concepts and best practices
* Knowledge of data center operations and concepts to allow optimized availability and performance
* Strong vendor management experience and abilities
* Proven track record of documenting and implementing standard IT processes
* Project coordination and management experience
* Strong skills in people management
* Solid critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems
* Qualified candidates must be presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; This company does not sponsor or transfer H1-visa individuals
