Position Summary
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for running the El Cajon Manufacturing operations. The Director will be responsible for the efficient operation of a high technology manufacturing operation focusing in the production of drawn, formed and machined high technology metal products for the Medical Device, Aerospace, and Industrial Power industries. The director is responsible for a program of continuous improvement, first pass quality and on-time delivery designed to make Veridiam a tier one competitor in the high technology precision manufacturing market.
The Director of Manufacturing Operations will effectively direct the Production Operations from supply chain through production. Success will be measured by the successful implementation of continuous improvement programs resulting in consistent increases in productivity and quality. The director oversees the supply chain, the production processes and maintenance to ensure safety procedures are followed and performance goals are met.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
+ Leading achievement of exceptional Operations improvement, operating and financial results.
+ Leading major Operations projects (e.g., program launches, plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.), from planning through implementation and operating execution.
+ Collaborating with Engineering, Sales, and Customers in developing production methodology for new products, providing DFM input and developing manufacturing equipment facility plans.
+ Directing and leading Operations department managers to accomplish the goals of supply chain operations, production, maintenance, and shipping consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
+ Directing and coordinating various programs essential to manufacturing support (e.g., training, safety, maintenance, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).Education
Education and Experience
+ Four-year college degree in a Business, Engineering or related science. An advanced degree is preferred but not required
+ 5+ years leading a 100+ employee plant for a leading Tier 1 supplier to automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway equipment, aerospace, medical equipment/device or industrial equipment industries, achieving exceptional improvement, operating and financial results.
+ Operating in environments with complex and precision-engineered components and assemblies in low volume/high mix environments.
+ Leading major improvement initiatives, particularly using the lean operating principles and tools.
+ Attracting and developing high caliber people and developing high-performance teams.
+ Application of tactical and strategic manufacturing principles, processes and tools
+ Cross-functional knowledge, industry knowledge and business situation and versatility
+ Proficient in MS Office and ERP software and working understanding CAD/CAM tools.
