Our client a global multi:billion dollar company with a great deal of product diversity is seeking a Director of Software Engineering for one of their business units. The Director of Software Engineering will be in charge of managing and coordinating the life cycle productivity activities including verification and validation of a Digital Product Platform. This will include leading a team of software engineers and managers in product development and aftermarket support. The Director of Software Engineering will manage complex software tasks and will develop and build a highly skilled team of engineers. This leadership position will be responsible for new product design, design enhancements, corrective actions and product release of mission critical product platforms. This role will have direct reports in multiple locations around the globe.

:Directs the management, strategic development and deployment of the software development involving cross:functional resources.
:Provide inputs and insights into the strategic product portfolio roadmap.
:Lead the software development life cycle to bring to market quality products.
:Provides the 3 : 5 year assigned platform technical vision/roadmap and leadership for developing and implementing initiatives for improving cost effectiveness and quality in a constantly changing environment.
:Supervises and provides input for analysis and prioritization change requests.
:Develops, coordinates, guides and maintains development of the technical strategic and tactical platform plans in support of the overall corporate objectives.
:Strong leadership qualities, including a hands:on, non:bureaucratic leadership style, to include open and frequent communications at all levels of the organization and a genuine sensitivity to the development needs of the organization.
:Defines a vision for meeting current and future digital development needs, while ensuring alignment and integration of software/hardware development with the overall vision, mission, and values of the corporation.
:Oversees budgeting, staffing, staff development and supplier partnership management.
:Establish, gain alignment and implement short and long:range program goals, objectives and operating procedures.
:Recruit, train, coach/mentor, manage staff performance and delegate with support.
:Directs program specific research and technology development of new technologies and methodologies.
:Evaluates industry publications and studies and provides business development support.
:Responsible for the coordination, preparation and delivery of activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the program.
:Lead, participates and facilitates team meetings.
:Perform other duties as assigned.
