Altman Plants is the 2nd largest nursery in North America and reputedly the largest succulent grower in the world. We offer a wide variety of cacti, succulents, annuals, perennials and other specialty plants to many of our countrys leading national retailers, supermarkets and independent nurseries.

Ken and Deena Altman started growing succulents as an innocent hobby. The hobby transformed itself into a wholesale nursery business encompassing over 1700 acres in six states. It was Ken and Deenas nurturing care for each individual plant that grew the business to where it is now. The same care and time is still given to each plant today.
This role will be supporting HR Representatives and their related business
unit(s)/departments/locations by providing leadership and consultation on employee relations (ER) matters related to
Management of ER cases from beginning to conclusion or guiding the HR Representative in addressing the particular situation. Interprets policies and procedures, advises on fair and equitable employment practices, makes recommendations and provides strong leadership and guidance in support of our culture and complies with Company Policies along with Federal and State law. This role will also work on other ER projects as needed (e.g. ethics, policy, accommodations, coaching, training, M and A, or termination related). This position will require a candidate to be strongly skilled in processes, effective at interfacing with employees at multiple levels across the organization, will need to lead and manage change and possess the ability to work in an extremely fast:paced environment. This position also requires a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality.

Overall Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include interviewing, counseling, and training employees; planning, disciplining, conducting investigations, addressing complaints facilitate employee assistance on workers compensation matters and the Company Employee Advocate and resolving problems.
Conduct investigations with the skill and ability to analyze a situation, make appropriate
judgments/recommendations/decisions and coach and communicate as needed with employees and supervisors to resolve employee relations matters
Conduct investigations and inquiries into internal claims of discrimination, sexual harassment and or any perceived unfair treatment in the workplace. Strategize regarding appropriate corrective action and work with respective manager and appropriate stakeholders to implement action.
Ensure all related documentation is comprehensive, thorough, and timely.
Provide creative solutions to issues and work to resolve employee relations issues with comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, practices and all state, federal, etc. labor laws and regulations.
Respond to internal complaints presented through various avenues, including the hotline, email, and direct calls in a timely manner.
Develop appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records. May develop new or revise existing electronic or hard copy systems and make internal and external presentations.
Develop and present training programs related to relevant Employee Relations topics.
Provide support in the modification of human resource policies, practices and systems to maintain currency.
Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Conducts reviews and evaluates all work:related accident reports for completeness and clarity of data; analyzes data, as needed, to ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
