Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Production Product Manager for our Avionics and Tactical Networks (A&TN) team that is an operating unit in Communications Business Unit within the C4ISR Division and is based in the Rancho Carmel area of San Diego, Calif.
A&TN focuses on providing advanced technologies, engineering development and production engineering for our software-defined radio programs. A&TN programs include the communications, navigation and identification (CNI) development and production for F-22 and F-35 aircraft.
The Production Product Manager (PPM) will have overall responsibility for all aspects of managing major suppliers on production and development programs. Key responsibility areas include managing cost, schedule and technical performance of a supplier-produced F-35 CNI hardware work package for both Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and full volume lots. The position will be responsible for supporting the solicitation and evaluation of proposals, supporting negotiation of work content and price with the supplier and creating a performance baseline plan.
The PPM will manage to a fixed price budget, perform to a program schedule to meet delivery dates, and lead a team to resolve technical and administrative problems associated with the assigned work package, for products provided by suppliers. For LRIP, the work package will include digital and/ or RF Hardware
Configuration Items (HWCIs) with responsibility for supplier production management from proposal through to product delivery.
Assignment may include second source identification and support of qualification activities. The PPM will work closely with the F-35 CNI Program Managers, Global Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, Engineering and the F-35 affordability team to resolve supplier issues and to drive lot over lot cost reduction measures to
meet targets. Position will report directly to the LRIP Program Manager.
