If you have a child younger than 14, you may be qualified to participate in the SDSU Wristband Project or another research project that will begin soon.

Your family can help us learn more about using silicone wristbands (bracelets) to measure children’s exposure to their environment. It’s a fun science project that kids usually enjoy!

The SDSU Wristband Project includes:
• Two research assistants will visit your home to bring the needed supplies and sign you up for the project. This visit will take about 30 minutes.
• Over a week, your child will wear three wristbands on their arm and a small air monitor clipped to their clothes or backpack.
• The research assistants will visit your home again to ask about your child’s exposure to tobacco smoke and electronic cigarettes during the week, and collect a urine sample. This visit will take about an hour.
• Or if you prefer, you can meet with us at our research office in Kearny Mesa.

If you are qualified and participate, you will receive
up to $110 in gift cards for your time.
