Wick Bennett-- "I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid i was big into comic books. I loved to create my own characters and give them cool powers and elaborate back ground stories. It was a lot of fun. As I got older I used art as more of an escape and a way to make up for my lack of being able to express myself verbally. My sketch books and random doodles sort of became like a diary. I stopped drawing almost completely for about seven years after leaving NY. I have just recently rediscovered my passion and emotional connection to art. It was like reconnecting with a lost love."

Junk & PO (Krissy Fernandez)-- "I was born in Baguio City, Philippines and raised in Guam until the age of 18, when I moved to San Diego on a whim and a sense of urgency to venture the world on my own. I’ve always used art as a way to create a reality that made sense to me, during moments when I was frustrated or confused with things that I didn’t understand -- like hypocrisy, isolation, and disconnection within grander themes of love, religion, and society. My visual narratives can be viewed as self-portraits as it is personal stories and lessons (which thrive on subtle humor and ironies of life) that are reflected on, therefore producing an intimate documentation of my reality. Each painting provides an opportunity for me to confront fears and dissect issues, and although introspection through brutal honesty has inevitably been the most difficult part of the process, it is the most essential ingredient to expressing my thoughts through any creative medium I can get my hands on."
