The February meeting of SD Floral Association will feature Nancy Conney of Sky Hunters Raptor Education and Rehabilitation. She will speak on the importance of raptors in the environment and will bring along several of these magnificent creatures that the organization has rehabilitated but cannot release. Birds like red-tailed hawks, barn owls, kestrels and screech owls are all included in her talk.
After 10 years with Project Wildlife, Conney formed Sky Hunters in 1996. This group cares for birds of prey that are injured and eventually releases them into the wild. A non profit organization, Sky Hunters operates with a volunteer staff and is funded by donations and its community outreach programs.

Conney also is an instructor at the SD Natural History Museum and makes presentations at various parks in San Diego County. As vice president of the California Council of Wildlife Rehabilitators, she is passionate about educating the public on the importance of raptors.

This meeting is free and open to the public.
