Damaru is a world beat music group from San Diego that incorporates African and middle-eastern rhythms into an incredibly energetic and danceable groove. With the addition of bass, sax, flute, guitar and vocals, Damaru has created a sound that is original and unique.
While based on traditional drumming traditions, the music transcends boundaries of ancient and modern, for a cross cultural world fusion. Damaru performs throughout the southern California area, and has a self-titled CD available. Live performances can be presented in a variety of formats, from an intimate percussion ensemble to full electric band, complete with dancers. Bassist is currently seeking musicians for a variety of projects. I'm a Berklee alumni somewhat new to the San Diego area, and have recently opened a recording studio which is doing well. Additionally, I'm involved with a variety of projects on a performance level, and constantly need musicians for gigs.

I'm looking for Sax, Guitar, and Organ/Piano/Keys players that are looking to involved with recording projects as freelance, hired gun players, and possibly become band members should you like the project. I'm also looking to get my own project off the ground which will be a collaboration of professional level players, seeking paying gigs both on a local and national level. I'm endorsed with Eden Amps, Dean Markley, and Moog, have rehearsal space, studio, things ready to go, just need the players to help collaborate. I have a couple of drummers I'm playing with and love, just need to fill it out with some other interesting, and interested players.

Out of all the bands in San Diego The SensationS were selected by a major national talent agency to perform 3 big shows for 2,000 guests in the 90,000 square feet main room, Sails Pavilion, at the San Diego Convention Center for an international corporate gala event. Another major national talent agency selected The SensationS to perform for 1,000 guests for a gala event for an international convention in the Grand Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriott. The American Heart Association selected The SensationS to be the only band to perform for 10,000 people at their national event in Balboa Park which was covered by NBC News and KOGO radio station selected The SensationS to perform for 2 of their events at Qualcomm Stadium.

Looking at Earth from Space, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe all come together in the Mediterranean, literally meaning the "Middle-Earth".....

The Middle-Earth Ensemble is a San Diego based group that performs music for belly dance and other festive occasions at many local venues. Their gypsy-infused sound has fueled the hips of many a belly dancer in the Southern California area, and has led to their popularity in San Diego . The musicians derive their influences from many different styles, including Arabic, Persian, Turkish, folk, jazz, classical, rock and improvisational music. The music of Middle-Earth Ensemble represents a unique fusion and blending to create their original sound.

Another major national talent agency selected The SensationS to perform for 1,000 guests for a gala event for an international convention in the Grand Ballroom at the Anaheim Marriott. All of our members are in our 20’s and 30’s and all are very nice people; we get along really well and work well together. Rehearsals are right down to business working on original charts. We are serious players and sincerely strive to do great musical work to satisfy our passions and to create the tightest, most syncopated rhythmic Ska grooves since the Skatalites.

We rehearse once per week locally, Sundays between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Additional time to rehearse as our availability allows. Charts for all material provided. We have upcoming performances on the books and we would like to record once the lineup is complete.
